Meet Our Counsellors
Emma Murphy MIACP (Retired), Owner
BA (Hons) Psychology, PGDip Counselling & Psychotherapy, Eating Disorders Practitioner (NCFED UK), HSE Accredited Group Facilitator, FETAC Trainer
Hi, I’m Emma Murphy, and I am the owner of Sandyford Wellness Centre.
For the past ten years I’ve worked almost exclusively with adults who struggle with Food, Body Image and/or Disordered Eating. This is my area of speciality, and I am absolutely passionate about helping clients to rediscover their mojo, and let go all of the guilt and frustration they feel when it comes to food and their body shape/size.
Out of my 10 years experience, I have developed 'Eating Freely', a program you can attend one to one with an Eating Freely Therapist, or work through in your own time online. in 2012 I won an Elevator Award from Social Entrepreneurs Ireland in recognition of my original online program, and how it supports clients accessing professional support online.
I now train other Psychotherapists in my Eating Freely Program, supervising them and supporting all our clients, on and offline, through the additional resources offered to Eating Freely Program participants - including monthly online Q&A sessions and a Secret Facebook Group which I personally moderate.
for people who cannot access a specialist therapist in their area, we also offer the Eating Freely Program via secure and encrypted Online Video Counselling. My motto is ‘Start from where YOU are’, and I try to facilitate that with our range of supports.
I do not believe that change takes years, I believe that if you are Ready, Willing and Able to commit to making different choices and challenge all your old, unhelpful beliefs and behaviours, our Eating Freely program will absolutely be a turning point for you. It simply cannot fail to change your thinking, behaviours and feelings about food and your body. What you DO with the information you’ll learn is of course down to you. To find out more, visit our Eating Freely Program page.
